| comment: | during his stay in Mouans-Sartoux herman de vries came across the work of Simon-Jude Honnorat (1783-1852). Honnorat, a French medical doctor, naturalist and lexicographer, was interested in the history of Provence and its various dialects. He is considered to be one of the founders of scientific research on the langue d'oc. He is the author of the Dictionnaire Provençal-Français ou dictionnaire de la langue d'Oc ancienne et moderne (Repos éditeur : Digne 1846-1847). Ten years later, again Honnorat played an important role in herman de vries's work in and around Digne-les-Bains |
